We're seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support our electrical construction projects from our Lewiston, ME office. This role is critical to ensuring materials, equipment, and services are procured accurately, competitively, and on schedule.
What You'll Do:
  • Partner with Project Managers to plan and execute purchasing strategies aligned with project estimates and timelines
  • Prepare, review, and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to protect company interests
  • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals and make recommendations
  • Track and ensure timely receipt of contracts, insurance certificates, and required documentation
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Fleet, Logistics, Project Teams) on equipment and material needs
  • Maintain accurate data in project and cost systems
  • Support cost control and estimating initiatives through accurate reporting and insights

What You Bring:
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proactive, collaborative mindset with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Vista/Viewpoint preferred

Required Experience:
To be considered for this role, candidates must have prior experience working for either:
  • An electrical contractor, or
  • An electrical distributor,
with demonstrated knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and procurement processes.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Low voltage or wireless experience preferred
