Job description

Job Summary

The Purchasing Admin executes a range of purchasing activities to guarantee streamlined inventory management. 
Essential Job Functions
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Responsible for arranging for the purchase of supplies, materials, and in accordance with purchasing policies and consistent with requester’s specifications.

·         Contact suppliers/vendors to obtain competitive price bids; determine availability, terms, and delivery schedule regarding specific requisitions; evaluate quote/terms; and recommend action.

·         Develop and prepare purchase orders as assigned; process paperwork and forms; verify receipt of goods and resolve discrepancies and problems regarding price, delivery and/or condition.

·         Order and reorder inventory stock items, supplies and materials while working to establish minimums/quantities; maintain on-going liaison with Receiver regarding inventory levels.

·         Assist in training staff in all facets of purchasing policies, procedures, processes, and use of system; review requisitions and purchase orders to ensure completeness and compliance with Company policies; develop and/or modify forms and processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

·         Prepare a variety of CMMS reports for team members and management to track KPIs.

·         Travel between sites, Leesport location as well as Hamburg to support organization.

·         Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

·         Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.

·         Report any potential Food Safety issues to management immediately.

·         Report any damages to company vehicles, equipment, and buildings via work orders software program through lead or manager.

·         Report any animal welfare related issues to management immediately.

·         Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

·         Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Required Qualifications
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

·         Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, purchasing, accounting or related field preferred.

·         Minimum two years of relevant experience required.

·         Valid Driver License required.

·         Advanced knowledge of storeroom practices and stock record systems.

·         Advanced knowledge of CMMS systems required.

·         Advance computer skills, excel, word, outlook preferred.

·         Ability to plan and schedule purchasing activities consistent with both economy and service.

·         Ability to establish and maintain accurate records and files.

·         Knowledge of inventory control and tracking.

·         Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

·         Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload, with a strong attention to detail.

·         Outstanding communication skills both orally and in writing.

·         Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

·         Ability to independently make decisions and self-motivated.

·         Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).  

·         Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.

Physical Demands
The physical requirements/environmental factors for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and machinery inside production and warehouse floor.

·         The ability to move 50 pounds alone and 80 pounds with assistance constantly.

·         Must be able to walk and stand for periods of time.

·         Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed.

·         Must be able use hands for simple/firm grasping.
