**Join Our Dynamic Team as a Pump Installer at Smith Pump!**
Are you ready to dive into an exciting career where every day brings new challenges and opportunities? Smith Pump is seeking a skilled and experienced pump installer to join our dedicated team. If you have a passion for problem solving and donโ€™t mind getting your hands dirty or being on the road this is the position for you.
As an experienced pump installer, the Well Rig Operator provides on-site service to customers in the field to install pump equipment, conduct inspections and regular/preventive maintenance, troubleshoot problems and service equipment.ย  Works with engineers, pump mechanics and panel technicians in problem-solving solutions on a wide variety of water and waste water pumps, motors and controls, with shop work as required.ย  Correctly uses and maintains tools of the trade including hand tools, power tools, electrical equipment and measuring instruments in a physically demanding outdoor environment.ย 

**Travel: โ‰ˆ 75%**
Get ready to hit the road! This role involves approximately 75% travel throughout the Texas market.
**Position Requirements:**
*Required*
- Experience as a service technician and/or mechanic.
- Understanding of water pumps, or electrical or mechanical equipment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with both employees and customers.
- Ability to drive a commercial vehicle daily to job sites.
*Preferred*
- Five (5) years of experience in pump field service and/or pump service rig work.
- Certified Pump Installer by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
- Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Pump troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Teardown, inspection, reporting, and repair of pumps in the shop.
- Maintenance and repair of tools and equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
**Physical Demands:**
The Field Service Tech is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for most of the workday. Strength requirements include the ability to handle weights and forces of 100 lbs or more.
