Job Description
The Westminster, MD and Crawfordsville, IN Operations Center for Penguin Random House has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, self-directed individual to join our Distribution Systems Support team. This position will be onsite at our Westminster or Crawfordsville facility supporting locations across multiple time zones.
In this role, you will support project initiatives involving distribution-related systems, including user interfaces, back-end processes, and reports. You will also resolve help desk tickets, support users, and customize user exits to accommodate process changes and new customer requirements.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working independently and collaboratively with the team. They will bring strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. They are comfortable working within a proven set of development guidelines. Success in this role requires attention to detail, effective time management, and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Warehouse Management Systems, and/or Transportation Management Systems.
Qualifications
A strong candidate will have experience with some or all of the following:
  • College degree plus 2-5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent hands-on experience in an IT development/support role
  • Oracle (PL/SQL, stored objects)
  • Linux commands and shell scripting
  • Python, HTML, JavaScript, Perl, C
  • Barcode symbologies, printing, compliance labeling
  • TCP/IP socket programming, API programming/usage
  • Git Source Code Repository, VS Code

Additional Information
The salary for this position is $70,000-$85,000. This position is eligible for bonus/profit share contingent on company results.
