Job description

The Publicity Manager strategizes, plans and executes movie and series publicity campaigns, working from the start of production through to post premiere. The role requires strong media relationships and a demonstrated track record of national and local media placements. The Publicity Manager works closely with external partners (including Talent/Reps, Eps/Showrunners, and Production Companies) and internal teams (including Programming, Brand Marketing, Design, Social Media/Digital and Media Ops). The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, who is highly organized and able to juggle multiple campaigns.

The salary range for this job is between $70,100-$93,450. Salary rate will take into consideration several factors including location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategize, execute, and manage publicity campaigns for Hallmark series and movies.
  • Secure stories, manage and staff interviews and events, compile and present comprehensive campaign coverage and analysis.
  • Utilize multiple earned media channels, and build strong contacts in, broadcast, print and digital/new media.
  • Identify campaign assets (clips, key art, stills, promos) and create press materials, including announcement releases, bios, captions, talking points, loglines, pitch letters and correspondence.
  • Develop and manage positive relationships with the talent, producers, publicists, agents, managers, production staff, media and executives.
  • Collaborate with a broad spectrum of teams, including content, marketing, social, and digital, to ensure cohesive campaign execution.
  • Participate in the awards campaign strategy and submission process for assigned movies and series.

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

    • 5+ years of relevant experience at network, streamer, studio.
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills required.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Demonstrate strong judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
    • Extremely organized with strong follow-through and time management skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities.
    • Established media contacts across consumer entertainment.
    • Willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
    • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive and Teams) and Media Database Tools (e.g. Cision, Muck Rack).
    • Knowledge of Hallmark Media programming a plus.
