Job description

Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule

Position available with the Public Works Department, Residential Refuse Division
Location: 5300 Municipal Ave
Pay: $18.37-$28.01 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30a.m.-3:00p.m.

Responsibilities
What youll do
  • Greet and direct the public and internal staff to appropriate resources within the Public Works Department or throughout the organization to ensure timely and accurate assistance
  • Respond to information requests and resolve routine complaints to support positive customer experiences
  • Monitor and respond to incoming calls, 311 emails, and online inquiries for the Public Works Department to ensure no request goes unanswered
  • Work with independence and judgment in accordance with city and departmental policies and regulations to handle service requests appropriately
  • Respond promptly to reports transmitted to Public Works in real time based on the coding selected in the My KCMO system to support efficient service delivery
  • Update the assigned Public Works division, provide input through the My KCMO portal, share updates with the reporter, and close cases once a resolution is provided by the department

  • Customer inquiries and service requests are responded to promptly and accurately
  • Reports submitted through My KCMO are routed correctly and updated in real time
  • Communication between residents and Public Works divisions is clear, professional, and consistent
  • Routine complaints are resolved efficiently and in line with city policy
  • Cases are documented thoroughly and closed appropriately once resolved
