Company Background: Our client, a major employer in the area, is looking for a Prototype Quality Technician to be part of its team in its North American operations.

Job Description:

  • Client''''s Vehicle Prototype Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Technician.
  • Primary responsibility of this role is to support the Prototype Quality process within R&D.
  • Reporting to the Weld and Paint Manager, the person in this role will support the Vehicle Prototype department''''''''s objective to support Client North America Product Development and Vehicle Evaluation.

What you''''''''ll be doing:

  • Operate ZEISS blue light, Client, and FARO equipment to measure body-in-white assemblies, individual components, and tooling.
  • Generate detailed measurement data reports to verify accuracy, conformance, and build quality.
  • Develop and maintain digital measurement plans in support of Client R&D initiatives.
  • Support prototype build activities, group requests, and other assigned tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help address changing priorities and support multiple areas of need.

Requirements:

What you bring:

  • Weldment, JIG, or Fixture measurement and scanning
  • Experience using CAD software to manipulate vehicle, component and part data (+2 years CATIA, NX/Unigraphics, Creo, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Experience in creating measurement plans from CAD software and data points (+2 year)
  • Supports customer objectives by adapting to changing priorities and assisting in multiple functional areas as required.
  • Exhibits a customer-focused mindset through flexibility, responsiveness, and willingness to support a range of assignments and responsibilities

What you may bring:

  • Associate degree in Metrology or Quality Engineering, or a related technology field.
  • Experience using KPIs for goal setting and process management.
  • Experience with Quality Circle activities or other structured problem-solving methods, such as TBP.
