Job description

Jr. Project Cost Estimator

to perform the following duties at client DTLA office:

  • Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or
  • Assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives to establish
  • Provides support in price negotiations
  • Prepares claim analysis and estimates
  • Prepares detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications and sketches
  • Assists in reviewing contractor’s claims and proposals for merit and accountability
  • Conducts research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services
Minimum Requirements
  • Two (2) years full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities or School Construction.
  • Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs
  • Experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders
  • Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to identify differences
  • Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimates the detailed costs of those scopes of work independent of the contractor proposal
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Fact-find and in-depth skills
Required Education

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, engineering, or construction management
