Job description

Your role
As a Proposal Manager, your mission is to generate proposals for Self-Pierce Rivet systems to support our customers' manufacturing process. This is accomplished with the development of the department's expertise and knowledge to promote profitable growth for the organization with tangible benefit to our customers. You will direct activities concerned with quoting and sale of our products by performing the following duties personally and utilizing the many and varied internal/external available resources. You will report the the Manager of Project Managment.
  • Evaluate customer/end user, RFQ requirements and customer/end user specifications.
  • Conceptualize the application and integrate our products where applicable.
  • Work with several layers of customers, sales, integrators and end users to quote projects and rivets.
  • Validate our product offering to meet the RFQ requirement.
  • Create an offering with properly documented deviations.
  • Technically writes up proposals using standard quote processes or customer required if necessary.
  • Compile data for preparing estimates, using PCW work sheet, several data base systems, history and knowledge within the organization.
  • Review bids for conformity to contract requirements or Terms and Conditions.
  • Evaluates offering and estimates risk. If risk is a concern sets up internal review.
  • Assist sales in the pricing process by contributing info of history, blankets, competition.
  • Ensure local or international standards have been accounted
  • Large quote Develop action plans, communications, resources and scheduling to complete tasks on time.
  • Provide technical support and proper product selection for all of our products and how best to interface to customer applications.

  • 5+ years of working in estimating, quoting or proposal, preferably in automotive.
  • Ability to effectively interface with personnel at all level.
  • Analytical, and self-starter.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
  • Must possess adequate and fluent computer skills with various computer programs and databases Excel, Word, Powerpoint, SAP, AutoCAD and various graphic programs.
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering, Business or related discipline
