Title: Business Development Manager


Location: Huntsville, AL

Position Status: Full Time

Work Schedule: Regular hours are Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Employees may need to adjust work hours during surge situations.

Travel: This position may require up to 30% travel, both CONUS and OCONUS


Brief Job Description:

The Business Development Manager develops new opportunities through relationship building with prospective commercial, government, and industry clients. The BD primary focus is to work directly with the Business Development team to identify initial opportunities and bridge the gap between identifying opportunities and helps the proposal manager develop a compliant and successful response to solicitations.

Responsibilities

  • Recommends win themes and contributes to the development of pricing and teaming strategies
  • Manage the transition from initial opportunity discovery and bid analysis through the proposal process
  • Part of a team with Director of Business Development to support Partner and Customer relationship meetings
  • Ensures organizational operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws governing business operations while fulfilling the expectations and needs of the client
  • Develop capture plans, including partner relationships, customer call plans, competitive analysis, and price to win evaluations
  • Represents the company at key meetings, conferences and symposiums with government and industry customers
  • Develops, identifies, qualifies and captures new business opportunities that align with the aviation services and integration capabilities of Axxeum, Inc. as available.
  • Assist Director of Business Development in marketing events such as trade shows, conferences and customer meetings that support BD objectives
  • Participate in business development planning activities, to include pipeline reviews, opportunity gate reviews, after action reviews to document lessons learned and identify necessary adjustments to capture technique, strategy and actions
  • Performs other tasks as needed


Requirements

  • Must have at least 6-10 years in Business development. At least 4 years of which should be in government contracting; Experience in Aviation is a must.
  • Must have an understanding of the DoD (i.e support Aviation industry)
  • Demonstrated success in leading and winning substantial DoD support contracts.
  • Must be able to develop strategies for winning DoD support Aviation based opportunities through teaming arrangements and leveraging Axxeum's existing contract vehicles
  • Must be able to detail opportunities through pipeline management and organizational policies governing bid/no-bid decisions
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Must be able to build and strengthen working relationships with multiple government and industry customers and potential teammates
  • Must have strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Must be detail oriented with good analytical skills and ability to handle multiple tasks independently
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must have attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Must demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management
  • Must have the ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written are Required

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds.


Work Environment:

Generally, work is conducted in an inside office environment, but may also involve some outside work depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates and while on travel.
