Overview

Tyndale's Proposal team is growing as we seek a strategic, detail-oriented Proposal Manager to lead our team through compelling, compliant, and customer-focused proposal content that drives business growth, strengthens customer relationships, and supports competitive success. This leader brings deep expertise in proposal management, technical writing, content strategy, cross-functional collaboration, partnering closely with stakeholders across the organization to deliver high-quality responses, optimize proposal processes, and continuously enhance Tyndale's proposal operations. This leader combines exceptional communication, team development, and project management skills with a passion for process improvement, content governance, and leveraging technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, quality, and overall proposal performance.

HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This opportunity requires onsite work a minimum of 2 days per week, and 3 days per week remotely. To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Tyndale offices in City Centre, Houston TX or our headquarters in Pipersville, PA (Bucks County).

Responsibilities

Proposal Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, develop, and manage the proposal team, providing direction, workload prioritization, performance feedback, and professional development to foster a high-performing, customer-focused proposal function.
  • Own the end-to-end proposal operations process, leading proposal development from opportunity kickoff through final submission, including resource planning, timelines, assignments, reviews, approvals, risk management, and deadline execution.
  • Analyze RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires, supplier registrations, and other solicitation documents to develop compliant, accurate, competitive, and strategically positioned responses.
  • Lead proposal strategy sessions with cross-functional stakeholders to develop compelling win themes, customer value propositions, and differentiated messaging aligned with Tyndale's sales strategy.
  • Review, edit, and approve proposal content to ensure consistency, quality, compliance, and alignment with brand standards and customer requirements.
  • Support high-priority and customized sales opportunities by translating complex technical, operational, and business information into clear, customer-focused proposals under compressed timelines.
  • Establish and monitor proposal performance metrics, including turnaround time, compliance, quality, content reuse, and win-rate trends, using data to drive continuous improvement.

 

Proposal Content Strategy & Knowledge Management

  • Own the proposal content management strategy, ensuring the knowledgebase remains accurate, organized, scalable, and aligned with evolving customer and business needs.
  • Lead the development, governance, and continuous improvement of proposal templates, standard responses, content architecture, and version control practices.
  • Conduct ongoing content audits to identify gaps, retire outdated information, and improve content quality, usability, and competitiveness.
  • Establish governance standards and best practices that improve proposal consistency, efficiency, and collaboration across the organization.
  • Leverage reporting, analytics, and user feedback to measure knowledgebase effectiveness and prioritize enhancements that increase proposal speed and quality.

 

Proposal Operations, Technology & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as the business owner and subject matter expert for proposal automation platforms, content management systems, and proposal operations technology.
  • Partner with the Director of AI and cross-functional stakeholders to identify and implement AI-enabled solutions, workflow automation, and process improvements that enhance proposal quality, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the adoption, training, and ongoing optimization of proposal technologies, ensuring high user engagement and consistent best practices.
  • Establish and improve proposal workflows, operating procedures, and performance standards to increase productivity, reduce cycle times, and improve win rates.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying operational opportunities, measuring results through KPIs and analytics, and implementing sustainable process enhancements.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Business Partnership

  • Build strong partnerships with Sales, Pricing, Finance, Operations, IT, Contract Administration, Supply Chain, Marketing, and executive leadership to develop winning proposal strategies and deliver high-quality customer responses.
  • Lead the organization's responses to customer security questionnaires, technical assessments, supplier registrations, and other customer qualification requirements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company capabilities.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for customer-facing proposal communications, executive messaging, and supporting sales collateral.
  • Coach internal stakeholders on proposal development best practices, content standards, and knowledge management resources to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-accountability environment that strengthens cross-functional relationships, improves proposal execution, and supports overall sales growth and customer success
Qualifications
  • Direct people leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and managing a high-performing team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Progressive experience in proposal development and proposal management, including leading complex RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires, and strategic proposal efforts from opportunity through submission.
  • Experience leading complex proposal efforts and collaborating with Sales, Pricing, Finance, Operations, IT, Marketing, Legal/Contract Administration, Supply Chain, and subject matter experts to deliver compliant, competitive responses.

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Professional Writing, Business Communications, English, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience developing, editing, and managing RFP responses, proposals, technical content, sales collateral, and other customer-facing business communications.
  • Strong project and process management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent proposals, manage competing deadlines, and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Experience establishing proposal processes, content governance, knowledge management, or continuous improvement initiatives; familiarity with proposal automation or content management systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to improve proposal quality, operational efficiency, and scalability preferred.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat; experience with proposal management, content management, or CRM platforms preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and consistently interact professionally, cooperatively, and respectfully with employees, customers, and business partners.
  • APMP Foundation Certification preferred; APMP Practitioner or Professional certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting a proposal management platform, content knowledgebase, or document automation software.
  • Experience with full RFP lifecycle management, including kickoff, compliance review, content development, review cycles, final production, and submission.
  • Experience responding to complex RFPs for enterprise, national account, government, energy, utility, manufacturing, or Fortune 500 customers.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools to improve content development, research, editing, quality control, or workflow efficiency.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Trello, marketing platforms, or similar project or content management tools.
  • Experience managing, coaching, mentoring, or training content, proposal, or marketing professionals.
  • MBA or advanced degree a plus.

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands: 

  • Primarily operates in a professional office or hybrid work environment.
  • Requires prolonged periods of computer use, document review, writing, editing, virtual meetings, and collaboration activities.
  • Frequent interaction with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, leadership teams, customers, and vendor partners.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain focus while managing complex deliverables.
