Position Purpose: As a Sales & Property Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for the processing of all property tax bills associated with the auto loan and lending business and for processing property tax rendition filings and abatements.

Essential functions:

  • Enhance productivity and streamline processing to achieve at least 10% improvement year over year.
  • Ability to create and follow policy and procedures 100% of the time.
  • Meet bill payment deadlines and follow-up on sales and property payments with clients
  • Attention to various state and other jurisdiction deadlines and processes to prevent penalties
  • Process and pay bills on behalf of multiple clients for sales and property tax
  • Handle the rendition filing process for all required states
  • Process fulfillment requests (i.e. customers requesting copies of property tax)
  • Process abatements, refund checks to lessees and check requests for clients
  • Handle requests for research if customers are disputing charges. Contact the appropriate taxing jurisdictions, if needed
  • Assist in the preparation of various items within appropriate timelines

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Accounting or Finance related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years basic accounting/ accounts payable experience required
  • Minimum 3 years experience with property and sales tax as it relates to vehicle leases

Additional eligibility requirements:

  • Understanding of automotive leasing sales tax, ability to research and understand sales tax requirements and applicability to client portfolios
  • Ability to research mainframe system manuals to determine set up requirements and changes needed to support taxing requirements and payment allocations
  • Strong written and verbal communications, comfortable with making recommendations to our clients and supporting decision rationale
  • Provide guidance and manage workflow for tax staff to ensure all filings are accurate and completed within time deadlines to ensure financial penalties are not assessed
  • Dependable self-starter
  • Proficiency in MS Windows based environment with intermediate proficiency with MS Excel software required
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with daily work processing deadlines
  • Strong Data entry/keyboarding skills required
  • Excellent organizational, time management, follow through, research and problem-solving skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent phone and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently with minor supervision
  • Reconciliation and finance support. Responsible to help reconcile daily balances for cash accounts.
  • Ability to participate effectively in a team atmosphere

Travel required:

  • Less than 5% travel
