Commercial Refrigeration Project Manager

Pay Range: $100,000 – $120,000 DOE + Performance Bonus + Robust Benefits + Vehicle

Location: Atlanta, GA

Travel: Up to 60% (Office Monday, project sites rest of week)

How you'll spend your time as a Commercial Refrigeration Project Manager:

  • Own projects from turnover through closeout.
  • Build and manage project schedules – coordinate mobilization, deliveries, and inspections.
  • Direct foremen and crews on priorities, sequencing, and field decisions.
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, purchase orders, and subcontractor scope letters.
  • Track project P&L, including labor, material, equipment, subcontractor spend, and forecast margin.
  • Identify and execute change orders – document, price, submit, and close.
  • Serve as primary contact for customers, GCs, and stakeholders.
  • Train foremen on job sequencing, labor/material management, safety, and margin protection.
  • Champion safety culture – ensure OSHA, EPA, and NEC compliance.
  • Maintain documentation in the project management system (Projectmates, Procore, or equivalent).

Skills & experience we'd like you to have as a Commercial Refrigeration Project Manager:

  • 5+ years of managing commercial mechanical construction projects.
  • 3+ years of experience with supermarket or industrial refrigeration installations (DX & CO2 systems).
  • Knowledge of multiplex DX and CO2 systems – racks, condensing units, cases, piping, electrical, controls.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects ($250K – $5M+).
  • Ability to read, build, and forecast project P&L – cost coding, WIP, change orders, and margin analysis.
  • Willingness to train and develop foremen to build strong field leaders.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings, EMS diagrams, specs, and contract documents.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Projectmates, Procore, or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% across the Southeast US.
  • National supermarket program experience (Publix, Kroger, Walmart, Target, Whole Foods, Aldi) preferred.
  • Refrigeration foreman, journeyman, or service technician background preferred.
  • EPA 608 Universal, OSHA 30, PMP, or CCM certifications are preferred.
  • Transcritical CO2 (R-744) installation experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
