The Director, Global PMO for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for developing and strengthening a high-performing project team while advancing project management excellence across the organization. This role focuses on building deep project management expertise to successfully deliver pivotal projects, programs, and strategic initiatives at both regional and global levels.

In addition to leading complex technical and non-technical projects, the Director will play a key role in shaping and scaling the future Global Operations Project and Portfolio Management Office, establishing robust processes, capabilities, and talent. Proven leadership in managing and mentoring Project Managers, along with experience navigating complex project environments, is essential to drive both team development and consistent delivery of high-impact outcomes

This position reports to the Senior Director, Global Operations PMO and Strategy, responsible for the management of our Global project portfolio(s) & our Global Project Managers.This position is part of the Global Operations PMO & Strategy Team and is an on-site role in Chaska,Minnesota (with approximately 20% domestic and international travel).At Global OpsStrategy andPMO, our vision is to bring best in class project and portfolio management methodology and skills to support the achievement of our business goals.

In this role, you will have the opportunity:

  • Be responsible for therecruitment, leadership and mentoringof Project Managers, ensuring projects realize their benefits and Project managers realize their potential.

  • Define and embed best-in-class project and program management standards, tools, and methodologies.

  • Establish and drive the achievement of Project and Portfolio KPIs through the adoption of Danaher Business Systems tools (Visual Project Management, Daily Management etc.) and Global Ops PMO Standard Work/Methodology, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and delivery excellence

  • Oversee the execution of regional and global projects/programs, ensuring alignment with business priorities, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, steering team, and executive-level key partners.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field(Scientific and/or engineering) with preference for 14+ years' experience in Project Management OR Master's degree with preference for 12+ years' experience in Project Management OR Doctoral degree with preference for 9+ years' experience in Project Management.

  • Significant experience in diagnostic/medical device regulated environment (manufacturing, R&D, engineering)

  • Strong Project Management experience (with supporting qualifications) leading large, sophisticated operations and/or R&D projects/programs and complex teams.

  • Proven experience leading all aspects of medium/large design changes, and all aspects of technology transfer programs/projects in the Medical Device or Diagnostics regulatory environment

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all organizational levels.

  • Prefer minimum of 10 years people management with proven ability to manage, mentor and develop Project managers and project teams with varying levels of PM competence. Can take tough decisions around people and can quickly build effective teams in a global matrixed organization.

  • Global business knowledge and influence - demonstrated understanding of different cultures and approaches and demonstrated ability to lead, follow, work and influence at all levels and in all functions of the organization.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to traveldomestically andglobally

  • Approximately 20% travel

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Lean /Six Sigma experience, certified Kaizen leaders and demonstrated capability in problem solving.

  • Proficiency in Power BI/smartsheet, MIRO, excel and PM software.

Theannualsalary range OR the hourly range for this role is$200,000 - $220,000.This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
