ABOUT THE ROLE

The Resource and Mine Planning Manager will be responsible for accurately assessing and estimating Central Canada's reserves and resources, ensuring annual reporting and filings meet SEC SK-1300 compliance. The Resource and Mine Planning Manager will collaborate with the Senior Resource and Mine Planning Manager and other key functional roles and business units to provide operational support, geological assessments of properties and generate mining plans to maximize resource utilization, reduce costs and ensure operational safety

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Reserve & Resource Management - conduct geological investigations and assist with volumetric analyses and reserve estimations to support operations, planning and reporting. 
  • Compilation of field geological investigations, interpretation of test data, mines technical studies and financial studies, and accurate reserve and resources reporting. 
  • Coordinating with other functional groups to ensure required data/information is compiled for SEC reporting.
  • Annually generate reserves and resources reports/filings in compliance with SEC SK-1300 regulations. 
  • Mine Planning and Development - develop short, mid, and long term mine plans to optimize resource extraction utilizing appropriate mine plan or block modelling software. 
  • Participate in the annual slope stability internal inspection program, and increase awareness of geotechnical and slope stability risks.
  • Project management for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: geotechnical studies, drilling, hydrogeology, resource estimation, etc. Oversee and coordinate consultants and contractors. 
  • Manage field investigations, including staking, drilling, sampling and mapping of deposits. Analyze geological data to identify opportunities for new resources and reserves.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, environment and land departments. Support permitting processes to ensure compliance across our sites.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours. 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geo-science, Geology or related discipline.
  • Preferred Education: Masters degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology or related discipline.
  • Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years industry experience, preferably in aggregates, construction materials or mining.
  • Required Technical Skills: Must possess a Professional engineering or geology certification (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo).
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in resource estimation, mine planning and geological software (e.g. AutoCAD, QMS, Softree, GIS, LSS or Vulcan).
  • Travel Requirements: 30-40%.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, and ability to create professional presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Self-starter with a motivated and proactive attitude.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
