Job Title: Field Operations & Asset Coordinator
Job Description
We are seeking a Field Operations & Asset Coordinator to support the deployment, maintenance, and operation of remote energy and monitoring equipment across Canada. This role involves managing a fleet of field assets, coordinating contractors and vendors, conducting site visits, and performing hands-on maintenance activities in challenging and remote environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate a fleet of field assets, including LiDAR systems, power trailers, battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar equipment, generators, fuel cells, and remote communications infrastructure.
- Plan and oversee equipment deployments, relocations, commissioning activities, and ongoing operational support.
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect equipment performance, verify operational readiness, and address field issues.
- Coordinate third-party contractors, service providers, and equipment suppliers to support project execution and maintenance activities.
- Procure equipment, spare parts, tools, and consumables required for field operations.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules while coordinating corrective and emergency maintenance activities as required.
- Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage electrical and electronic systems in the field.
- Install, maintain, and support remote communications equipment, including Starlink and GSM-based systems.
- Complete field documentation, maintenance records, inspection reports, and asset tracking updates.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety policies and site-specific guidelines.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on maintenance experience in the field or at home.
- Project management and coordination experience.
- Drivers license.
- Eligibility to apply for a US work visa.
- Knowledge in telecommunications, troubleshooting, data collection, solar panel repair, generator maintenance, and wiring.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with LiDARs, power trailers, remote communications such as Starlink and GSM.
- Experience with low-voltage wiring.
- Experience with data collection software.
- Experience with Solar Panel Management Systems.
- Experience with remote/off-grid components like batteries, solar panels, charge controllers, remote generators, inverters, and load balancing.
- Modem/router configuration experience.
Work Environment
This role is based out of the Toronto office, with preferred in-office days from Tuesday through Thursday, offering remote flexibility with a monthly office presence when needed. Site visits start with short visits (1-5 days) once a month, potentially increasing during seasonal peaks or when deploying additional units. Current units are in locations such as BC interior (Kamloops area), Northern Ontario, New Brunswick, Oregon, and Upstate New York, with future locations potentially including Texas and more in BC, ON, and NB. The role involves travel to units, troubleshooting, and light mechanical servicing. Travel expenses are reimbursed, including hotels, flights, car rentals, meals, and supplies; mileage paid if using a personal vehicle.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.00/hr.
