Associate Project Manager

100% Remote Anywhere in Canada Full-time

inecta makes inecta Food - a purpose-built ERP for food and beverage manufacturers, processors, and distributors. Our clients run some of the most complex supply chains in the industry, and we help them run them better.

We're hiring an Associate Project Manager to support the delivery of inecta Food implementations alongside our senior project management team. This is a growth role, not a standalone one - you'll execute against the plan under guidance while building the experience to run engagements of your own. The goal is simple: keep projects on track, keep clients and stakeholders informed, and take on more ownership as you go.

Responsibilities

Client Handling

  • Promotes and maintains positive client relationships that directly serve inecta's profitability and strategic goals.
  • Ensures all actions are aligned with inecta's best interests, recognizing the importance of retaining profitable reference clients.
  • Proactively and effectively manages client expectations.
  • Communicates effectively and respectfully with clients.
  • Flags concerns or complaints appropriately and maintains clear expectations.
  • Involvement in upselling inecta product to current customers.

Plan Driven Project Execution

  • Ensures proactive, plan-driven project execution across assigned projects by using the project plan as the authoritative guide for tasks and timelines.
  • Drives accountability by ensuring assigned resources complete tasks as scheduled, with timely status updates reflecting actual progress.

Risk Management & Communication

  • Assesses with guidance and escalates risks appropriately, keeping stakeholders informed.
  • With guidance from senior resources, identifies potential deviations early and takes corrective action to maintain alignment with the plan.

Financial Accountability & Scope Management

  • Anticipates and manages budget risks, with guidance from more senior resources.
  • Manages change orders with clients and ensures alignment with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintains and proactively communicates accurate and up-to-date scope and budget status.

Responsive Self Starter

  • Responds promptly to internal and external communications.
  • Maintains consistent communication and follows through on open items.
  • Completes tasks independently and seeks clarification when needed.
  • Demonstrates accountability and looks for opportunities to take initiative within scope.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills; participates confidently in internal and client conversations. And any relevant upselling experience would be a great asset.
  • Self-starter who works well independently but is also a team player.
  • Exposure to project planning or coordination through internships, academic coursework, or junior roles is expected. Familiarity with task tracking and timelines is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully handling difficult situations and resolving conflicts.
  • Exposure to tracking hours, budgets, or estimates is preferred. Strong plus for experience logging time or reviewing/managing scope changes / change orders.
  • Experience maintaining simple project trackers or task logs required. Demonstrated experience with PM tools like Asana or Smartsheet is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing high-pressure situations effectively. History of balancing multiple tasks while maintaining strong relationships. Demonstrates proactive communication and collaboration, fostering a positive, solutions-oriented work environment.

Compensation

Base $51,000-82,000 CAD depending on experience, plus a discretionary performance-based bonus paid semi-annually. Full inecta benefits package including RRSP with 3% company contribution, sunlife insurance, LTD, STD, vacation, sick time. 100% remote. Occasional travel may be required.
