OSP Construction Manager

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Job Type: Contract

Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)

Travel: Local travel to construction sites required

Position Overview

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced OSP Construction Manager to oversee daily fiber optic construction activities in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. This role is responsible for managing field operations, supervising inspectors and construction crews, ensuring safety compliance, and tracking project progress throughout the lifecycle of fiber infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underground utility or fiber optic construction, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate between field teams, inspectors, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily field operations for active OSP fiber construction projects
  • Supervise and support field inspectors and construction crews
  • Track daily production metrics, including drill counts, footage completed, and project milestones
  • Ensure all work is completed according to project specifications, quality standards, and schedules
  • Conduct site visits and provide field oversight throughout construction activities
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and coordinate with local municipalities, inspectors, and contractors
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Enforce safety policies and promote a strong safety culture across all job sites
  • Identify and resolve field issues that may impact schedules or project quality
  • Provide daily reports, updates, and production metrics to project stakeholders
