Patriot Engineering and Environmental is growing and is looking for a Senior Environmental Compliance Project Manager/Consultant to join our talented and impactful team in our Cincinnati, OH office. Patriot Engineering and Environmental is an Employee Owned, diverse engineering firm with a multi-state locations and presence providing geotechnical, environmental, and construction materials testing services and consultation to commercial, industrial and governmental clients. Patriot has an opening for an experienced Senior Environmental Compliance Project Manager/Consultant. This position will be part of a very skilled team that works closely with Regional Environmental Group Manager and other technical leads leading, managing and performing environmental compliance services. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and personable individual with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of a growing and high performing team.
The successful candidate has extensive experience as follows:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with underground storage tank closures and petroleum release investigations in Ohio (Ohio Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations guidelines) and/or Kentucky (Kentucky Underground Storage Tank Branch guidelines) including knowledge of state petroleum release insurance fund guidelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Ohio EPA Voluntary Action Program (VAP) regulations. Ability to evaluate potential projects through historical document and records review to develop an appropriate scope of work and prepare an accurate cost estimate.
  • Ability to implement a project with minimal oversight or input and see it through to successful completion within budgetary constraints.
  • Excellent report/document preparation and review skills and highly proficient in the use of current Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, colleagues, contractors, clients, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to act as a mentor or advisor to junior and entry level staff.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible with demonstrated willingness to take on tasks or projects outside of the position's normal scope in an effort to add to the office's and company's success.
  • Willingness to build a sustaining practice and engage in business development efforts including being active in professional organizations
  • Work directly with clients professionally and display service-oriented attitude to address their operational, remediation, and development challenges and goals.
  • Build, sustain and mentor high performing team with focus on professional acumen, client service and QA/QC.

Qualifications Required:
  • Registered/Licensed geologist/engineer (10 to 15 years' experience minimum) with current license in Ohio, Kentucky and/or Indiana or capability of becoming licensed in at least one of these states within six (6) months.

  • Experience identifying and developing new business opportunities. and deliver responsive, high-quality services.
  • Ability to make decisions and perform as an independent thinker and leader but also collaborate with project team personnel.
  • Strong technical writing and data management, organizational and communication skills
