Job description

Position: PROJECT MANAGER
About the Role
The Project Manager (PM) is a key member of the operations team and leads the delivery of network infrastructure and cabling projects for an assigned site. This role requires strong leadership, project management, customer engagement, and operational execution skills.
Key responsibilities include developing program schedules, managing cost and quality targets, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The PM will also support estimating, proposal development, procurement of materials, and overall project execution from planning through completion.
What You'll Do
  • Oversee full lifecycle project management, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and manage program schedules, milestones, and resource plans.
  • Evaluate materials, products, and designs for constructability during pre-construction and support cost estimating and value engineering.
  • Establish project budgets, track financial performance, and prepare progress reports.
  • Determine labor needs, coordinate technician travel, and supervise project teams on-site and in the office.
  • Coordinate with superintendents and ensure compliance with codes, permits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret and communicate plans, specifications, and contract terms to staff, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage contracts, revisions, and change orders.
  • Solicit and manage subcontractors and material suppliers.
  • Oversee procurement of equipment and materials.
  • Implement and maintain quality control, risk management, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Address project delays, issues, and on-site challenges proactively.
  • Collaborate with internal and external design, construction, network, and facility partners.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and serve as the primary program liaison.
  • Manage HR-related activities for project staff, including hiring, training, performance coaching, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure completion of all required program documentation, including weekly/monthly reports and the DL Way project management playbook.
  • Provide accurate billing, job cost review, and financial reporting.
  • Be present on the jobsite for all active project management responsibilities.
What You'll Need
  • 5+ years of experience in construction management, data centers, or structured cabling.
  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering mission-critical programs on time and within budget.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and client engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; contract negotiation and administration experience.
  • Experience mentoring employees and vendor teams.
  • Understanding of program management fundamentals (EVM, SPI, CPI, etc.).
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • BICSI RCDD or similar telecommunications certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • Must meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements.

CBRE/Direct Line carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Project Manager - Data Center position is $120,000 annually [or $57.69 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Project Manager - Data Center position is $140,000 annually [or $67.31 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
