Job description

Overview & Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage multiple medium or large scale projects as an independent with full understanding of the project management process. This individual will manage all aspects of contracts, schedules, budgets, etc. Projects order values range from $500K to $20MM
Role Responsibilities:
Schedule Management
  • Leads project hand-over from Sales / Applications teams to the execution team
  • Manages master project schedule and sub-schedules
  • Maintains on-time delivery with monitoring of engineering, procurement, and manufacturing
  • Develops regular Project Progress Reports and issues to the customer
  • Manages order changes and associated schedule impacts
  • Communicates with Global Services organization regarding overall schedule of repairs, installation, and replacement parts

Budget Management
  • Confirms initial budget after project hand-over from Sales / Applications with Execution and supporting EEE teams
  • Manages budget through the life of the project
  • Identifies budget overrun when it occurs
  • Approves additional budget when required
  • Closes budget when a project is completed

Communication
  • Interacts with others requiring social skills and the ability to understand and influence using data and logic
  • Cooperates effectively with colleagues / partners across many departments and disciplines
  • Has significant contact with customers, suppliers and subcontractors with backgrounds in projects, operations, engineering, and purchasing

Technical Knowledge
  • Extensive understanding of large, custom engineered equipment (rotating equipment such as compressors, steam turbines, hot gas expanders, cryogenic pumps/expanders preferred)
  • Proficiency in Gantt chart creation and maintenance activities
  • Utilizes systems such as Windchill, Oracle, Lotus Notes and MS Projects
  • Understands revenue, margin, and absorption
  • Manages invoicing with Finance by communicating with internal and external customers

Business Knowledge (Purchase Contracts Knowledge)
  • Reviews terms of conditions, including LD, warranty, payments, delivery conditions, etc. in Purchase Orders
  • Manages contract change requests and Change Orders with Contract Admin
  • Communicates with customers regarding technical and commercial matters

Business Knowledge (International business)
  • Understands Incoterms
  • Arranges export shipments
  • Interacts with global internal and external customers

Decision Making
  • Decisions involving schedules, budgets, internal and external communication aligned with the scope size listed above
  • Decisions involving customer expectations and contract requirements
  • Manages time and responsibilities to prioritize actions across multiple projects

Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferably in engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or similar discipline such as project or business management)
  • 4+ years of project management experience.
  • 3+ years of turbo machinery (or equivalent industry) experience.
