Job description

WEC Business Services LLC, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an IT Team Leader - Project Management in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin or Pewaukee, Wisconsin location. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time regularly spent in the office.

Job Summary

The Applications Team Leader is responsible for the supervision of a group of project managers focused on all phases of large, medium and small-scale project management and solution delivery. Responsibilities include the preparation and tracking of work plans, administration of the performance management process, coaching and development of the team. The Project Management team will lead critical work streams on projects, driving results, and ensuring adherence to project management methodologies and established PMO and PMI standards. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with business leaders, PMO, technical teams, and external entities. The Team Leader Applications will also engage in lead roles in PMO facilitation and practices. They will lead efforts to establish and mature project management processes and PMI standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates advanced project management expertise, leading large, complex initiatives across all PMI process groups: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing. 
  • Applies and promotes PMO and PMI standards, including governance frameworks, knowledge areas, and best practices; continuously improves delivery processes and mentors team members. 
  • Delivers technology solutions that enable business transformation, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, business case objectives, and enterprise policies. 
  • Leads teams in defining project scope, developing work breakdown structures, building cost estimates, and creating integrated project schedules with key milestones and deliverables. 
  • Oversees execution and manages core project constraints to ensure successful outcomes. 
  • Provides regular performance reporting using KPIs and project metrics, escalating risks, issues, and decisions through appropriate governance channels.
  • Sets team strategies, goals, and plans aligned with company, customer, and PMI standards. 
  • Proactively develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with internal clients, key stakeholders, vendor relationships, including contracting and directing external resources. 
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call support role on a rotating basis.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems/technology, computer science or related bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of development experience
  • Experience in all phases of the full cycle development process
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of business applications and processes
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Root cause analysis training and experience

End Date: 08/05/2026 

Pay Range Minimum:  $104,083.72 

Pay Range Maximum:  $156,125.32 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
