Our client is an established, full-service firm with a presence across several high-growth verticals, and the business is now scaling at pace. To capitalise on this momentum, they are bringing on a senior business development leader to help steer the next phase of growth.

The position on offer is Director of Sales & Business Development, a seat with genuine influence over how the firm establishes itself within one of the most active markets in the region, and further afield. Stepping in at this point in the firm's journey is an opening that rarely surfaces.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carrying out cold outreach and focused lead generation activity
  • Acting as the principal client point of contact to grow and strengthen long-term relationships
  • Securing profitable engagements from both existing accounts and new prospects
  • Pinpointing client needs, qualifying potential opportunities, and partnering with internal delivery teams to shape compelling solutions
  • Reaching out to prospective owner-operators, decision-makers, and priority accounts
  • Spotting areas for differentiation across technical capability, project execution, and commercial approach
  • Representing the firm at industry conferences and networking events, while serving as a thought leader within your domain
  • Overseeing proposal creation and coordinating pricing
  • Contributing to project management efforts on the engagements you bring in
  • Collecting and feeding back competitive intelligence to sharpen the firm's market position

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline (required)
  • A demonstrated history of winning and expanding accounts at a senior level
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities at every level of an organisation
  • A minimum of 8 years in business development or senior sales, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Hands-on experience managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting through to closing
  • A self-starting, energetic, and results-focused mindset, with the capability to operate independently
  • Sharp commercial instincts and the ability to spot and convert high-value opportunities
  • Open to regional and national travel as the role requires
  • Able to work fully on-site at the Greater Savannah, GA location

Preferred Qualifications

  • An MBA or other advanced degree
  • Background in establishing or scaling a business development function inside a vertical market
  • A well-developed professional network throughout the Southeast US
  • Knowledge of the Greater Savannah and Coastal Georgia business community
