Job description

POSITION: PROJECT ENGINEER

COMANCO is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our Operations team. This role provides an outstanding opportunity for an early-career construction professional to gain hands-on experience supporting complex construction projects while developing the technical, financial, and leadership skills needed for a successful career in project management.

As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and customer to support project planning, scheduling, documentation, procurement, cost tracking, billing, and project execution. You will play an important role in helping projects run safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with customer expectations.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with both technical and operational teams, and learning every aspect of construction project delivery. You'll gain exposure to project controls, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, document control, procurement, field operations, and customer communications while working alongside experienced construction professionals.

What You'll Do

As a Project Engineer, you will support Project Managers throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. You will assist with project planning, scheduling, document control, procurement activities, subcontract administration, material tracking, customer billing, and project closeout documentation.

You will help maintain project records, process contracts and purchase orders, track submittals and RFIs, coordinate shop drawing reviews, assist with change orders, support project buyout activities, and monitor project schedules and progress. You will also work closely with field personnel to ensure project information is communicated effectively and documentation remains current and accurate.

In addition, you will support project cost tracking by reviewing invoices, verifying project coding, assisting with billing activities, and helping maintain accurate project financial records. You'll learn how construction projects are managed from both an operational and financial perspective while developing the skills needed to advance into future project leadership roles.

Throughout the process, you'll collaborate with Project Managers and field teams to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, enhanced productivity, and successful project outcomes.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking candidates who are eager to learn, highly organized, and interested in building a long-term career in construction project management. Successful candidates are detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, or a related field is required. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant construction experience may also be considered.

Why COMANCO?

COMANCO is committed to developing future construction leaders. If you're looking for an opportunity to learn, grow, and build a rewarding career in construction project management, we encourage you to apply.
