Reports to: Director, EPC & Operations
Location: San Antonio, TX
OCI Energy is a respected provider of solar power, plant developer, owner, and operator. We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join a growing organization in a fast-paced environment. This position is located in San Antonio, Texas and provides a perfect opportunity for a professional looking for interesting work within a small cohesive team, the ability to expand their experience and contribute to the corporation's success.
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Director of EPC and Operations, the Project Engineer will support the technical aspects of solar and energy storage projects. This role assists with engineering reviews, coordination, and documentation to ensure engineering deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines. The Project Engineer will work closely with internal teams and external partners throughout project execution.
Essential Functions:
  • Support the technical review of project design packages (30%, 60%, 90%, IFC), studies, and analyses.
  • Assist with the review of technical components of contracts to ensure alignment with engineering standards and project requirements. Help ensure all project designs and technical documents comply with applicable relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Track engineering deliverables against project schedules and milestones.
  • Provide technical support during various phases of a project's lifecycle, from early development to final commissioning.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, suppliers, and consultants to help resolve technical issues.
  • Support project teams in addressing RFIs (Requests for Information) and NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
  • Collaborate with internal project management, procurement, and operations teams to support execution.
  • Assist in identifying risks and propose technical solutions to maintain project performance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Engineering degree (required).
  • Two plus (2+) years of experience in solar, energy storage, or related energy engineering roles.
  • Previous experience in technical oversight and review for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects.
  • Experience supporting utility-scale project design and construction activities is preferred. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, and Microsoft Office. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
