Job description

Due to significant growth, Dematic Corp is enhancing it's project controlling organization and is looking for a Finance Project Controller. Reporting to a Senior Program Controller, this position will act as a co-pilot to our Project Execution teams and will be the lead finance individual (CFO) responsible for driving a strong control environment and no-surprise culture within their portfolio of multi-million dollar projects.
This position is truly a link between the operational & financial functions of the organization and, as such, would suit individuals who have proven ownership and accountability for delivering results in a matrixed environment or working as a business partner to operational functions to jointly drive success.
**This role offers the flexibility to work on a hybrid model. Regular project site visits will be required and up to one week per month on site will be vital during critical stages of project execution.We offer:

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $92,625 - $135,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is what you will do in this role:

  • Joint responsibility with project managers for the financial success of the projects.
  • Support Project Managers with project forecast preparation, analysis & reporting
  • Challenge execution teams to mitigate/minimize potential budget variances through risk identification and quantification activities
  • Manage project financial projections (Estimates at Complete) and ensure any deviations from budget are clearly quantified and supported by root cause documentation
  • Contract review and performance evaluation to driving favorable financial results through Change Order management activities
  • Management of project working capital
  • Monthly presentation of project financial performance to VP/Director overseeing project delivery and creation of associated management reporting dashboards
  • Lead weekly pacing calls with PM's to ensure monthly forecast commitments are delivered
  • Support ad hoc analysis & other duties as assigned to improve the performance of project controlling function

What we are looking for:

  • 5= years of proven experience in either a projects business or manufacturing plant (preferred)
  • Strong sense of ownership & accountability - with a consistent track record to deliver success whilst working with an operational business partner
  • Ability to build relationships while also being comfortable challenging and proactively motivating change
  • Inquisitive nature with exceptional analytical, critical reasoning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to understand the product/solutions and not just the numbers
  • Strong demonstrated use of SAP (or equivalent ERP), Excel and PowerPoint
  • Min. 4-year Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
