Job description

Are you inspired by the opportunity to be part of some of the coolest projects in the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota? Join Egan Company as an Assistant Project Manager with our Electrical Construction group. In this role, youll assist with the management of construction projects, while helping the project stick to budget and time constraints. Youll help the project manager and project team from start to finish on a variety of projects in order to bring the plan to life for the customer.

With the flexibility of working hybrid, in this role you can collaborate alongside others with a blend of working in the office and at home.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project team to plan, setup, and manage construction projects.
  • Assist and support multiple Project Managers with a variety of tasks to include: change orders, RFIs, submittals, take-offs, billing, and job meetings.
  • Attend pre-bid project walk-throughs.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings and post-project reviews with project managers.
  • Assist in analyzing drawings specifications and related data to determine design requirements.
  • Navigate and use Egans project management systems and processes.
  • Participate in construction document analysis to develop clear and consistent interpretations.
  • Become familiar with the materials, equipment, and components of the technical systems installed by electricians.
  • Advise project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, and the like, as it relates to assigned duties.
  • Assist with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues.
  • Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as-built documents.
  • Solicit and review project submittals; coordinate with project manager and purchasing.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by ensuring Egans safety policies and goals are communicated and followed on assigned projects.
  • Build strong internal partnerships; work collaboratively with direct team and other Egan groups to support Egans Mission, Vision and Values.
Position Requirements:
  • 2-year Associates degree or Bachelors degree (or equivalent level of technical training and related construction experience).
  • 1+ years of previous construction industry experience.
  • Travel to jobsites and client sites may be required.
Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for the industry.
  • Outstanding organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Courteous, professional, diplomatic, and highly motivated.
  • Anticipates and adjusts to changing priorities and methods; willingly takes on new tasks and challenges.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks and learn new things.
  • Excellent MS Office and Google Suite skills and ability/desire to learn new software systems.
  • Must obtain OSHA-30 certification within six (6) months from date of hire (if not already certified; course provided by Egan).
Working Conditions
  • This role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement - working a mix of in the office and at home.
  • Occasional travel to job sites for meetings with foreman, site verification and job site meetings.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements are to be expected on job sites.
  • Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.

Salary Range: $55,978-$69,972 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
