Position Overview:

As a Senior Civil Engineer at Cornerstone Engineering, Inc., you will take a leadership role in the design, coordination, and delivery of complex civil engineering projects. You’ll oversee infrastructure, site development, and utility design efforts while guiding project teams, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring client satisfaction. • Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Review and approve plans, specifications, and other technical documentation.
  • Serve as a client liaison—communicating project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring client goals are achieved.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to junior engineers, designers, and technical staff.
  • Ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support project management functions including resource planning, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Maintain oversight of multiple projects simultaneously with effective time and task prioritization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee, or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with emphasis on site development and infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other industry-standard design software.
  • Strong understanding of stormwater design, grading, and utility systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Proven ability to manage project teams and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Commitment to continued professional growth and development.

  • Treat others with respect.
  • Set and work toward shared goals.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively.

Excellence in Performance and Production

  • Strive to exceed client expectations.
  • Deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.

Integrity in Behavior

  • Act with fairness and honesty.
  • Serve clients and colleagues with a focus on trust and reliability.
