Summary

Axillon Aerospace is looking for an experienced Program Manager to support various teams while driving the successful delivery, execution, and implementation of programs within our value streams.  This key contributor plans, organizes, and manages all activities necessary to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects within established objectives and serves as the primary interface between the customer, engineering, production, supply chain, and quality teams, ensuring that all program objectives related to cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality are met.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for internal distribution of all project related documentation for review and revisions as required
  • Monitors project budgets; reviewing reports and project expenses to determine if allocated funds have been spent as specified.  Tracks and reports program financial performance, including cost, margin, and revenue forecasts.
  • Follows established guidelines to manage completion of project milestones from beginning to end of lifecycle
  • Identifies project risks and provides solutions to minimize/eliminate risks, monitoring key project processes for compliance with objectives
  • Defines project’s objectives and oversees quality control for assigned programs and projects
  • Facilitates timely decisions to maintain program schedule and budget, while providing metric and milestone updates to upper management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop clear and detailed plans
  • Builds strong relationships with customers and develops a deep understanding of their objectives.  Serves as primary customer contact for assigned program(s)
  • Control scope, assess impacts of design or schedule changes, and manage customer change requests in accordance with contract terms
  • Support customer cost assist audits in support of the cost or pricing packages (DCMA/DCAA)
  • Identify and implement process improvements in program execution, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction
  • Monitors contractual requirements for property/tool calibration, maintenance, storage and perseverance (active and non-active) in adherence to company SOPs and Customer flows downs (FAR/DFAR)
  • Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs
  • The primary duties of this job require administrative, non-manual work directly related to business operations involving responsibility for processes and policies of significance, evaluation of possible solutions and results of the work for which the employee is responsible and making recommendations and/or decisions accordingly using professional judgment.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

  • Excellent leadership and strategic thinking capabilities along with ability to interface with cross-functional disciplines; using excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Knowledge of US government contracts and contract types (firm fixed price, cost plus) is desirable
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and proprietary information, including relevant record retention requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline such as Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Years Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Preferred experience specific with new product introduction (NPI) processes and programs supporting new business

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $130K-$145K.
