AWARE's residential program for adults with developmental disabilities welcomes men and women into its safe, comfortable homes. The comprehensive services we provide are designed to fit the individual. Our goal is to ensure each person lives according to their own idea of independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrave and/or service oversight and program supervision - according to administrave rule and corporate policy of assigned programs, projects, and/or staff.
  • Intervenes with clients and makes treatment suggesons to staff.
  • Parcipates and performs as a member of an interdisciplinary service/treatment team.
  • Maintains compliance with licensing standards.
  • Assists in the development and review of writen policies and procedures governing all aspects of the treatment program.
  • Complies and reports outcome data to demonstrate program effecveness.
  • Parcipate in organizaonal development and long-range planning.
  • Oversee the implementaon of service plans and individualized treatment plans.
  • Networks with other community agencies to provide services.
  • Parcipate in referral determinaons and communicate effecvely with referral sources regarding client's progress.
  • Observes, reports, and records data concerning the residents' physical, emoonal, and behavioral states.
  • Ulizes H.E.L.P. (including therapeuc holds) when it is determined that a resident is a danger to self or others; also performs basic First Aid and/or CPR when needed.
  • Provide training, in-service sessions, and other such instrucon as approved and directed by supervisor, this includes disseminang and encouraging AWARE's Core Values, Uncondional Care Philosophy, and approved Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) approaches and techniques.
  • Parcipate in staff evaluaons and personnel acons as directed.
  • Atend and parcipate in mandatory training, in-services, staff meengs, and Corporate Commitees as assigned. Collaborate with individuals to assess their strengths and skills in daily living, empowering them to idenfy, develop, and parcipate in meaningful acvies that foster funconal independence and personal growth in a safe, supporve environment.
  • Support individuals in navigang personal challenges or conflicts by responding with empathy, providing therapeuc guidance, and offering empowering alternaves to help build resilience and posive coping strategies.

Talents, skills, and abilities:

  • A thorough understanding of the developmentally disabled individuals, services, resources and tools.
  • The ability to assess clients (and families) from a strengths model perspective, along with the skills, knowledge and abilities to develop a theoretical perspective.
  • The ability to work with a variety of people.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A BS/BA Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of professional supervisory and management experience.
