While responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle from qualification to closure, this role places a primary emphasis on the operational execution of the win strategy-transforming competitive intelligence and strategic goals into tangible outcomes, resulting in a winning proposal and executable program. The core of this role is high-impact Leadership and Team Management in an environment where we are challenged for reduced lead times and cost. The Program Manager serves as a catalyst for the organization, providing the visionary guidance and compelling leadership necessary to drive the team toward achieving challenging customer and corporate milestones. This requires a leader who can not only define a path to victory but compel others to follow that vision with urgency and precision. Execution excellence is driven through expert matrix leadership, motivating a cross-functional team of functional and support specialists throughout the entire engagement process. The Program Manager will partner closely with operational teams to balance resource priorities, ensuring consistent, synchronized progress across all critical workstreams, including marketing, staffing, and pricing. We are looking for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, possessing the agility to solve complex problems in real-time and the influence to maintain momentum across a diverse team to deliver a winning solution on schedule within budget.
Based in Manassas, VA and reporting to the Space Electronics Program Area Director, this position is a great opportunity for an employee interested in building upon established Program Management skills. As a Program Manager II, the individual:
* Must have a demonstrated robust Program Management skill set
* Will make tactical and strategic decisions in a challenging environment
* Will collaborate with Program Managers, Business Development and Engineering to identify new business opportunities and execution strategies for Space Systems Product Line
* Must be able to interact with internal and customer representatives
* Will represent BAE Systems as a primary customer interface
* Will provide leadership and mentoring to emerging team members and foster a change environment
* Ensure effective utilization of new business resources to achieve technical and competitive advantages in the marketplace
* Will collaborate with Operations to understand and resolve procurement and manufacturing issues Required Education, Experience, & Skills * Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a technical/engineering field of study and 8+ years of applicable work experience
* Proven track record of high-impact oral and written communication style, and polished presentation skills at an executive level
* Have a computer hardware technical background and be able to interact with internal and customer engineers

Full-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
