Position Overview:

As a Project Manager within our Building Restoration Consulting Team, you will be assigned a specific project portfolio and will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of infrastructure implementation projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover, while meeting approved timelines, budgets, safety requirements, and client standards under the guidance and support of a Project Principal. With a proactive and client-focused mindset, you have a passion for delivering outstanding engineering services.

This is a contract role of up to 2 years, with the possibility of extension based on project needs.

General Responsibilities:

  • Marketing: Build Sense Engineering's brand through exceptional partner engagement. Represent Sense professionally, building positive relationships with clients, contractors and other consultants.
  • Knowledge Development: Enhance your technical expertise and stay current on industry trends and best practices

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects involving electrical upgrades, installation of new IT conduits, and associated construction activities required to modify existing parking structures and surface parking lots in support of our client's parking equipment modernization and pedestrian and vehicular access control program across their facilities.
  • Performs complete start to close-out project management on design and construction of infrastructure without staff delegation to support our client's parking equipment modernization and pedestrian/vehicle access control program across our facilities and surface lots.
  • Work with internal/external stakeholders to develop scope for infrastructure implementation to support our client's equipment modernization and pedestrian/vehicle access control.
  • Manage all aspects of project scope of work; initiate prepare and present agreements that govern the engagement of consultants and contractors for execution.
  • Review and evaluate consultant studies reports design proposals specifications and contract documents for compliance with our client's standards and any other applicable industry guidelines or practices.
  • Prepare and/or co-ordinate design, Tender Package, consisting of Drawings and Technical Specifications, as required.
  • Chair client meetings and communicate design updates, changes, and key project milestones to contractors and other engineering and architectural disciplines and other stakeholders.
  • Organizational, interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills to coordinate complex multi-disciplinary projects under pressure to meet schedule and budget commitments.
  • Represent Sense at industry events and other networking functions.
  • Commitment to continuous learning by staying updated with industry trends, codes, and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Frequent travel within Ontario is required as this role will be performed primarily offsite.
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 4 years of parking garage infrastructure, particularly with design, construction and commissioning of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
  • Registered with or eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
  • Proven ability to apply project management principles, from strategic planning and budgeting to resource allocation and scope control.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and relationship building skills with a proven ability to build trust with clients and contractors.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client-centric mindset.
  • Commitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle required
