Contracts Manager

Location: [City, State] | Salary: $120,000–$140,000 | Industry: Manufacturing – Defense/Government Contracting

About the Role

A manufacturing company supporting military and government contracts is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the full contract lifecycle — from proposal support through execution, compliance, and closeout. This role is critical to ensuring the company meets all federal acquisition requirements while supporting program and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full contract lifecycle: drafting, negotiation, execution, administration, and closeout
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable federal acquisition regulations
  • Review and interpret government solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) and prepare compliant responses
  • Serve as primary point of contact with government contracting officers and prime/subcontractors
  • Monitor contract performance, deliverables, and milestones; flag risks proactively
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Program Management, and Operations on contract terms and pricing
  • Manage subcontracts and flow-down requirements to suppliers
  • Maintain accurate contract files and documentation for audits (DCAA, DCMA, etc.)
  • Support change orders, modifications, claims, and dispute resolution
  • Track key contract metrics and report status to leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or related field
  • 5+ years of contracts management experience in a government/defense manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and government contracting regulations
  • Experience with ITAR/EAR compliance a plus
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with ERP/contract management systems
  • NCMA certification (CFCM, CPCM) a plus
  • Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance may be required

What's Offered

  • Salary: $120,000–$140,000, based on experience
  • Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k)
  • Stable, growing organization supporting essential military/government programs
