Position Summary
The University of New Mexico seeks an exceptional leader to direct its Oracle Cloud Transformation. This is more than an implementation, it is an opportunity to help shape the future of a premier flagship research university. This transformation is sponsored at the highest levels of university leadership and represents a critical strategic investment in how UNM serves its students, faculty, staff, and community. The Director will play a defining leadership role in one of the university's most important strategic initiatives.
The Oracle Fusion Program Director serves as the senior leader responsible for the successful delivery of UNM's Oracle Cloud Transformation. Reporting directly to UNM's Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration, the Director will lead the implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications across the UNM enterprise, including ERP/Finance, Human Capital Management, Enterprise Performance Management, and related Oracle modules. This role ensures alignment between institutional strategy and program execution across Finance, Human Resources, Information Technologies, and our campus community throughout UNM's Oracle Cloud implementation, and facilitates governance, scope, and outcomes.
This position operates at the executive level, bridging the Steering Committee and the Executive team, and is accountable for ensuring the implementation advances UNM's strategic priorities and embodies UNM's One University goal. It represents a significant opportunity to modernize the university's core administrative systems and enhance operational effectiveness across the UNM enterprise. The Director will serve as a member of the leadership team guiding the transformation in partnership with the Chief Information Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer, and University Controller, as well as the Director of Enterprise Applications. Working alongside the leaders who will ultimately operate, govern, resource, and continuously improve these systems, the Director will leverage and build upon existing practices and align program decisions with long-term operational needs and ensure a sustainable operating model for the future. Success requires influencing without direct authority, building consensus among stakeholders, and ensuring an effective transition from implementation to ongoing operations.

- Own program scope integrity and prevent fragmentation across functional areas
- Identify and manage enterprise-level risks and interdependencies
- Resolve conflicts between units and drive enterprise solutions
- Provide executive oversight of system integrator and software vendor, in close coordination with UNM IT
- Responsible for program financial performance, including budget management, contract expenditures, forecasting, and reporting
- Define and monitor measures of program success, adoption, and business value realization to ensure the transformation delivers the intended outcomes
