Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Exemplify Sachse Construction's core values.
  • Oversee select business development strategic initiatives, accounts, and targets
  • Prepare and implement strategic plans and business development activities for target markets and clients
  • Participate in related industry associations and events to gather market intelligence
  • Develop, maintain, and grow client relationships
  • Develop, maintain, and grow consultant/design team relationships
  • Take on select assignments, periodically, as assigned to support preconstruction, operations, program management, landlord work and/or tenant coordination
  • Actively engage, as requested, in project work to develop additional skills
  • Identify and prioritize business opportunities within target markets
  • Collaborate with internal team to track all leads and data reporting to leadership
  • Identify and develop relationships with potential partners
  • Develop "capture strategies" for specific business opportunities
  • Participate in development and generation of proposals as needed
  • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
  • Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating client's needs and goals.
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications
  • 5-20 years professional experience in an account management, project management or business development role
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Previous experience within a construction, engineering, or architecture firm (preferred)
  • Existing market experience in multifamily, hospitality, food & beverage, and recreational market sectors is preferred.
