Job description

General Purpose Hours: Various hours available to include nights and weekends for a limited seasonal term. Compensation: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour Assist with summer recreation programs such as Tot Lot, sports programs, summer camps, and Summer Fun Days Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Examples of Work: Supervise the actions and performance of the Recreation Program Instructors. Determine the work schedules of the recreation program instructors

Help prepare, review, approve, and forward the payroll/timesheet records. Assess recreation program facility conditions/weather and report for possible cancellation of programs. Recruit, coordinate, and supervise the volunteer coaches in the program.

Interact with program participants, families, and coaches in a positive and enthusiastic way. Resolve potential conflicts between coaches, parents, program participants, and other staff members in an articulate and courteous manner. Ensure the safety and well being of program participants, coaches, and staff.

Work independently as well as in a team atmosphere. Attend staff meetings, orientation, and training sessions as required. Assist with program registration and revenue collection as needed.

Maintain and assess equipment/supplies inventory and forward equipment/supply requests. Contact the Recreation Supervisor or Department Director immediately in the case of an accident/injury to a program participant, coach, staff member, or other person(s) related to the program and activate EMS as needed. Report any vandalism, graffiti, or other problems observed at a program facility.

Advise the Recreation Supervisor or Department Director of any suspicious person(s), vehicle(s), or any activity generally considered to be unwholesome or illegal. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in planning, coordinating, and conducting recreational sports, enrichment or other youth and/or adult program activities in an organizational setting.

First Aid/CPR certification is preferred, but not required. * Any coaching, officiating or instructing experience or certifications is desirable.
