Job description

The Culinary & Housekeeping Technician is a vital non-clinical support role responsible for ensuring a high standard of living for residents in a residential substance abuse and behavioral health facility. This position requires meticulous attention to detail in food service and sanitation, while also supporting the overall therapeutic environment and safety protocols of the program.
  • Assist with preparation and plating of meals.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas.
  • Operate and clean commercial kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
  • Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Perform routine and deep cleaning of all facility areas, including resident rooms, common areas, restrooms, and offices, ensuring a clean, neat, and sanitary environment.
  • Launder facility linens, towels, and rugs.
  • Monitor and stock all cleaning, hygiene, and facility supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and internal infection control procedures.

Requirements
  • Experience in a cooking or housekeeping role, preferably within a healthcare, residential, or institutional setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures (ServSafe certification may be required).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with residents and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
