As a Program Assistant, you will provide loving care and assistance to our members by helping them with activities, personal and medical care, meals, and on and off-site social activities. Job Summary
Program Assistants participate in the planning and facilitation of individual and group therapeutic recreational programs that meet the needs and interests of our members. Program Assistants assist individual members with activities of daily living as needed, serve meals and snacks, and help to maintain a clean, orderly and uplifting environment. Our team members are expected to lead by example - maintaining a positive attitude; being a thoughtful, supportive, productive and dependable co-worker; keeping our members safe; and always working to enhance the health and happiness of the people we serve and those who care for them.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred or a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
  • At least one-year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Prior experience working seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred but not required
  • Engaging interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Able to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer, and lift 50 pounds; able to stand for an extended period while providing physical assistance to members
  • Successful results of background check, and where applicable, additional state-specific regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed (e.g. arrival and departure, eating, ambulation, transferring, therapies, rest room assistance, etc.).
  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of creative and diverse therapeutic recreational programs and encourage member participation.
  • Serve meals and snacks and clear tables; assist with feeding as needed.
  • Observe members for change in condition or unusual occurrences. Escalate concerns as appropriate.

  • Maintain program areas, supplies, and equipment ensuring all are clean, disinfected, stocked, replenished and in good working order.
  • Ensure the safety of members by monitoring activities, keeping a sanitary, clutter-free environment, and participating in safety training; actively contribute to creating and maintaining a clean, orderly, bright and welcoming center.
  • Communicate in a positive, courteous and professional manner with members and their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community at large.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in-service educational programs as requested; actively collaborate with cross-functional team, providing feedback and recommendations for enhancing the member experience and achieving the center's overall goals and objectives.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, safety and regulatory laws and standards.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as changed or assigned at any time.
