The starting pay for this position is $22.28 - $25.63 depending on qualifications.
Under the direction of the General Operations Manager - BMX Track and BMX - Track Operators, the BMX - Program Support Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe usage of the City-owned Adaptive All-Wheel BMX track. The position is responsible for staffing the registration office during operating hours of the All-Wheels Adaptive BMX facility. Directly accountable for enforcing rules, monitoring facility use, maintaining a safe environment, and providing excellent customer service to all public users. Assists with daily programming, upkeep, cleanliness, and general facility presentation. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on programming schedules, practices, races, and special events and may be adjusted as needed. Hours of work vary depending on programming needs and the schedule of the BMX track and events. Facilitates the development of public trust and confidence in the City.
This position is considered an "Essential Position" for the purpose of Emergency Management. Emergency duties will be assigned as needed. This position requires 24 hours a day, 7 days per week availability during City of Port St Lucie emergencies, as determined by City Administrators, Emergency Manager or City Officials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Keeps the mission, vision, and values of the City of Port St. Lucie at the forefront of decision making and action; builds strategic and collaborative relationships and interacts with others in a way that builds confidence and trust; provides excellent customer service by taking action to accomplish objectives, maintains high levels of work and productivity by generating innovative solutions to work situations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service that fosters trust and positive engagement.
  • Assist Track Operators in maintaining safe operating practices for all users.
  • Demonstrate and promote proper and safe use of the track and equipment.
  • Assist with the loaner bike program as needed. Equipment set up, inventory control, and maintenance.
  • Support for BMX-sanctioned events, programs, and leagues by filling in and performing all necessary positions to operate programming.
  • Operate equipment including, but not limited to bikes, skateboards, scooters, or similar equipment as required.
  • Assist with program registration, scheduling, reporting, and participant communication.
  • Operates registration systems such as MotoMaker and RecTrac to register riders for weekly races and practices and create daily and weekly reports.
  • Accept payments and processes receipts for programs and facility rentals. Utilizes RecTrac software and maintains monthly reports regarding memberships and program attendance.
  • Accept registrations for programs and provides customer service and enters registrations for events and programs
  • Execute basic maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness to City of Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation standards by completing appropriate cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of grounds, track, common areas and structures.
  • Maintain facility, inside and outside; performs litter control functions; general janitorial and housekeeping functions; and other manual labor tasks.
  • Perform litter control functions; cleans restrooms.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma, required. Two (2) years of related experience in a skate park, action sports environment, or similar recreational setting required. A minimum of three (3) years of computer experience and strong organizational skills are essential; ability to learn new software is preferred. One (1) year of experience in customer service is required.
A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • CPR/AED certification required to be obtained within 6 months from date of hire.
  • USA BMX Coaching certification required to be obtained within one (1) year from date of hire.
  • Possession of valid driver's license and maintenance of clean driving record required with the ability to obtain a valid Florida driver's license within 30 days from date of hire.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including but not limited to Excel spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word processing software.
  • Ability to work with computers and learn software platforms including MotoMaker and RecTrac.
  • Skill in customer service and communication with a positive and welcoming approach.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Passion and participation in an action sport (skateboarding, scooter, inline, BMX, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail for facility upkeep and maintenance
  • General knowledge of BMX track equipment a plus (including but not limited to gate operation and Public Address (PA) system).
  • Ability to ride a bike, skateboard, scooter, or similar equipment as needed.
  • Ability to stay centered when challenged
