POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Service Technician 2 performs service, maintenance, and repair work with increasing independence once the workspace and scope are established. This role applies technical knowledge to resolve standard equipment issues, provides customer guidance, and ensures accurate documentation with limited oversight. Frequent overnight travel is required. 75% travel is required.
KEY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
TECHNICAL FUNDAMENTALS
โ€ข Independently performs routine service tasks once equipment and workspace are prepared.
โ€ข Diagnoses and resolves common equipment failures using standard diagnostic tools.
โ€ข Basic multimeter skills, megger skills.
โ€ข Able to read and understand wiring diagrams, plans and specifications.
โ€ข Verifies system readiness, settings, and materials before beginning work.
JUDGEMENT & INDEPENDENCE
โ€ข Works independently within defined scope and procedures.
โ€ข Recognizes limitations and escalates complex or non-routine issues.
โ€ข Demonstrates accountability for task quality and outcomes.
SAFETY EXECUTION
โ€ข Identifies safety deviations and stops work when required.
โ€ข Applies safety protocols without reminders.
โ€ข Maintains compliance with site-specific safety requirements.
DOCUMENTATION & COMMUNICATION
โ€ข Completes accurate service documentation without assistance.
โ€ข Communicates service status, findings, and recommendations clearly to customers and supervisors.
COLLABORATION & PEER SUPPORT
โ€ข Provides informal guidance to Service Technician 1 employees.
โ€ข Supports team efficiency through clear communication and coordination.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent
โ€ข 2+ years experience โ€ข Valid driver's license
โ€ข Ability to lift up to 50 lbs โ€ข Willingness to learn and accept feedback
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to work independently within defined limits
โ€ข Working knowledge of process equipment and diagnostics
โ€ข Willingness to travel to jobsites in IN, OH and KY territories.
