Berlitz offers training in all living languages, intercultural and management skills. Instruction is available through various delivery platforms (face-to-face, virtual, online, mobile, study abroad) designed to teach the skills, build self-confidence and empower people to succeed on a global stage. Our programs are custom-designed to fit the specific needs of our clients, should they be large or small corporations, individuals, young students or children. Summary of Position:

Under the direction of the Service Delivery Manager and Academic Specialist, the Japanese Instructor demonstrates commitment and passion to quality language instruction and education, representing as an expert in teaching and ambassador for Berlitz. The Instructor teachesthe required languages to assigned classes of students and provides student support in accordance with Berlitz teaching and customer service principles. The instructor also participates in professional development courses and activities, ensuring familiarity with goal-oriented, student-centered instruction.


Start date: Mar 31st
Level: 2 and 5 (approximately)
Schedule: Between 0800-1130 and 1400-1600 JST.
3 or 4 days a week.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lessons in accordance with Berlitz teaching principles: focusing on the goals, needs, and interests of students.
  • Conduct level assessments and needs-analyses, as assigned by Service Delivery Manager or Academic Specialist
  • Work with private and group students at the Learning Center, one of our offsite locations or virtually, assigned by Service Delivery Manager
  • Meet with Academic Specialist regularly to participate in lesson evaluation and coaching plan to strengthen teaching skills and ensure SMART goals are met
  • Complete training and professional development modules in @Berlitz Learning website and/or face-to-face live sessions, assigned by Academic Specialist
  • Responsible for keeping student pedagogical and attendance records up to date
  • Integrate learning technology into teaching programs and maintain shared teaching resource materials
  • Perform duties as deemed fit for proper execution and delegated by the Service Delivery Manager or Academic Specialist


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Four-year college/university degree or equivalent
  • Native Fluent in language(s) to teach
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be flexible in working hours
  • Be able to take initiative and work independently



Availability during the day.


Salary:$22.00 per hour


Essential Physical Functions:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.


Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and faxmachines
