Production Planner

This position is in Tell City, Indiana

ROLE:

A production planner is responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of production activities to meet customer demands while optimizing operational efficiency.  This role involves managing production schedules, ensure that materials, equipment and labor are available when needed, and minimizing production downtime.  The production planner works closely with procurement, manufacturing and logistics teams to balance supply and demand, control inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of finished product.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinating manufacturing processes and resources to ensure efficient and timely production.
  • Balancing demand and supply, monitoring inventory levels, and optimizing resources.
  • Analyzing production data to improve efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Working with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials. 
  • Coordinate and collaborate with manufacturing teams to allocate resources effectively, ensure smooth workflow and minimizing bottlenecks.
  • Communicate production plans and changes to relevant departments, ensuring clear alignment and minimizing disruption.
  • Coordinate customer build out, ramp up and system fill requirements for engineering changes and new product launches.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce costs. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in business, management, operations, supply chain preferred or related field.
  • Proven experience in production planning or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in production planning software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess and demonstrate leadership ability to include the following:
