Job Description
Product Operations Associate (MTO)
The Product Operations team supports the end-to-end product lifecycle through product data management, SKU setup and maintenance, launch execution, and operational process improvement. This team plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of product data across merchandising, eCommerce, and operational systems.
The Product Operations Associate (MTO) is responsible for managing and maintaining high-volume product data related to Made to Order (MTO) and Drop Ship (DS) assortments. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, systems thinking, and the ability to manage complex operational workflows across cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate is both highly data-driven and collaborative - someone who takes ownership, proactively solves problems, and can translate technical or operational concepts into clear, actionable information for business partners.
Essential Functions:
  • Manage workflows related to Drop Ship (DS) and Made to Order (MTO) SKU setup, maintenance, launch readiness, and CGI imagery requests for the West Elm brand
  • Maintain, validate, and audit large sets of product data and item attributes to ensure accuracy across merchandising, eCommerce, and operational systems
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve product data discrepancies, SKU setup issues, and system-related errors through detailed analysis and cross-functional collaboration
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for MTO and DS SKU setup processes, item hierarchy structures, and operational workflows
  • Execute and maintain product setup requirements including SKU flags, configuration attributes, pricing updates, cost changes, and launch dependencies
  • Partner with merchandising, product development, content production, eCommerce, and technology teams to support successful product launches and operational readiness
  • Translate technical, system, and data-related issues into actionable insights and recommendations for business-facing partners
  • Perform data audits, validation exercises, and process reviews to ensure ongoing product data integrity and operational excellence
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and scalable operational improvements
  • Support cross-functional projects, system enhancements, testing efforts, and process changes related to merchandising and product data systems

You...
  • Are highly analytical and comfortable working with large datasets, detailed product information, and system-driven workflows
  • Take ownership of your work, proactively identify issues, and drive solutions with a strong sense of accountability
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments that require strong organization, prioritization, adaptability, and attention to detail
  • Can confidently translate technical processes, data issues, and system limitations into clear and actionable information for cross-functional business partners
  • Build strong relationships across teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Balance precision and efficiency while maintaining a high standard for data accuracy and execution
  • Are naturally curious and proactive in identifying process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in product operations, eCommerce operations, merchandising operations, retail operations, or data management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite, including experience working with large datasets, data validation, and reporting
  • Experience maintaining or auditing product data, item attributes, SKU setup, or merchandising systems preferred
  • Familiarity with PLM, ERP, merchandising, or eCommerce platforms preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows and deadlines in a highly cross-functional environment
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
