Summary
About the Position: Sierra Army depot is located in Herlong, Ca, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles of Susanville, Ca. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.

  • Formulate production schedules for major end item systems
  • Estimate material and labor resource requirements for incoming production control work.
  • Generate detailed cost estimates for incoming asset repair programs.
  • Synchronize physical asset movements between storage yards and repair bays to keep lines fed.
  • Extract floor metrics to optimize future production runs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Scheduling work orders to meet production timelines, 2. Updating production records within a production database to ensure accurate production tracking, and 3. Overseeing end-to-end shop floor operations to ensure timely completion. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
