Position Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assembly Supervisor to oversee our assembly line operations. This role is responsible for ensuring production goals are achieved while maintaining high quality standards and optimizing workflow efficiency.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on fabrication experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The Assembly Supervisor will lead and support team members, resolve operational issues, and serve as a key communication link between the shop floor and management.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
  • Lead safety initiatives and enforce safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace aligned with 5S principles

Production & Quality
  • Oversee daily assembly line operations to meet production targets
  • Through hands on approach working with assemblers as needed.
  • Ensure all door panels meet ASSA ABLOY quality standards
  • Identify, address, and escalate quality issues as needed
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust resources to meet deadlines

Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, train, and mentor team members to ensure consistent performance
  • Support onboarding and ongoing employee development
  • Communicate company goals, priorities, and operational updates
  • Ensure employees understand how decisions impact production targets, quality, and daily work activities

Operations & Continuous Improvement
  • Troubleshoot operational and fabrication issues and provide technical support
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve processes and reduce downtime
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste
  • Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, and employee performance

Administrative & Employee Management
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping and attendance records
  • Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and manage disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing or machining preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a production environment
  • Ability to fabricate with industrial hand tools, read blueprints, and use precision measuring tools
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard manufacturing software

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production tracking software
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems
  • Understanding of machining operations, including milling and turning

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day on a concrete factory floor
  • Ability to lift 40+ pounds, including overhead lifting
  • Frequent handling of 16'-21' aluminum extrusions
  • Regular walking, reaching, and use of hands
  • Close vision required for inspection and detail work

Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles
  • Moderate to high noise levels
  • Climate-controlled facility
