This role provides hands-on experience with agile methodologies, stakeholder communication, and digital product management, all while working from a remote location. Working closely with software development teams and business stakeholders, the Product Owner owns backlog prioritization and day-to-day execution of development projects. The Product Owner manages competing priorities across multiple stakeholders, makes trade-off decisions with incomplete information, and navigates ambiguity to keep projects moving forward. This role emphasizes learning and growth, enabling the Product Owner to develop deep expertise in their product domain, understand how product decisions ripple across the business, and build skills in stakeholder management, technical collaboration, and strategic prioritization.

Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the backlog in Azure DevOps (ADO), developing a foundational understanding of all active work items.
  • Interpret stakeholder and organizational needs, translating them into concise work items for the development team (bugs, PBIs, features, Epics and research spikes).

  • Actively takes steps to improve product knowledge by seeking insights into how the business utilizes and integrates its systems.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with technical-BA and dev team to close any gaps on the technical side.
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize and organize the backlog for transparency and timely completion of valuable work items.
  • Support the development of a product roadmap by contributing to priority-setting and vision discussions.
  • Testing completed items to ensure quality and compliance with Acceptance Criteria and assist in coordinating smooth releases with stakeholders.
  • Troubleshooting for bugs and respond to inquiries from stakeholders, escalating when necessary.
  • Attend daily and weekly development meetings, adhering to the team’s working agreement and contributing constructively.

Remote Work Qualifications
  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
  • Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, or WY). H-1B Visa Sponsorship Not Available, W2 only.
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or similar role supporting software development.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and prioritizing a software product backlog using Azure DevOps or a comparable tool.
  • Experience working directly with both technical teams and business stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable software requirements.
  • Experience successfully managing competing priorities and escalations with stakeholders across different organizational levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience with data-informed decision-making such as, using metrics, user feedback, or analytics to influence prioritization and roadmap decisions.
  • Experience working in fast-paced or ambiguous environments where requirements evolve and priorities shift based on business needs.
  • Product Owner, Scrum, or Agile certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new concepts in a team-oriented environment.
  • A consistent employment history showing long-term commitment to previous employers.
