Description: The Operations Manager is responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in their day-to-day functions. This includes directing operations, running incident investigations, and providing corrective action recommendations. Furthermore, the Operations Manager will focus on the safety of the facility by investigating Dakota incidents, HazE cards and running weekly safety meetings. Finally, the Operations Manager will develop talent and enforce standards by way of conducting performance reviews, upholding the corrective action and disciplinary process, motivating staff and cultivating future leaders of the branch.
Duties include instituting policies and procedures, training employees, creating and executing production schedules, motivating staff to meet production goals safely and process optimization of cost saving initiatives that focus on efficient warehouse operations. The Operations Manager will be responsible for Production, Shipping/Receiving (day and night), Quality Control and works directly with intercompany department heads to coordinate efficient operations.
Responsibilities (May include but not limited to):
  • Uphold the fundamentals of the Nicholson Nine and Responsible Distribution Guiding Principles. Environmental, Health, Safety and Security are a responsibility of every PVS Employee.
  • Manage warehouse operations for safety, production, quality, and shipping/receiving.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and leadership skills to drive continuous improvement while maintaining morale.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental supervisors to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a safe, timely and effective manner.
  • Provide leadership by driving employee interdependency in safety, quality, and operational efficiencies.
  • Oversee incident investigations.
  • Develop and manage production improvement projects.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
  • Provides direction, development and leadership to administrative and supervisory staff.
  • Act as Incident Commander as necessary.

Required Education / Training / Equivalent Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Five years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
  • Experience in Safety and Quality System Management
  • Working knowledge of budgets and financial statement
