Job description

At Sanoma Learning, we all share a deep-rooted passion for education and are committed to support teachers to help all students to reach their potential, so they can be at their best in class.

We are proud of the impact we make together across Europe, local as well as international. As our teams and the scope of our impact grows, so do the opportunities for us to learn from each other - across country borders and areas of expertise. With over 2500 colleagues, we work on seamlessly integrated print, digital and blended learning solutions to help teachers and schools develop the talents of every child. Our people are passionate and committed and always willing to go the extra mile for students, teachers, schools, our shareholders and each other.

We are looking for an experienced Product Managerto lead one of our strategic platform capacity - Content as a Service (Caas) that enables Sanoma Learning to efficiently scale and innovate its digital offerings. This is a high-impact role with end-to-end ownership: from defining product vision and aligning stakeholders across countries, to ensuring scalable, reliable delivery that empowers downstream product teams.

In our matrix organization, you will work closely with product, engineering, data science, research, content, legal, commercial, and local country teams. You will report to the Senior Manager Core Digital Services for day-to-day delivery and to the 'Product Management competence lead' for your professional development.

Your key responsibilities

  • Define, own, and communicate the product vision and roadmap for Content as a Service, aligned with market needs across multiple countries
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, data science, integrations, legal, content, commercial, and country organizations to turn strategy into shipped outcomes
  • Own end-to-end product delivery, including discovery, prioritization, release planning, launch coordination, and post-launch optimization
  • Oversee product releases and dependencies across multiple teams, ensuring
    • Efficient onboarding of content from diverse source systems (CMSs, repositories, spreadsheets)
    • High-quality enrichment with educational and semantic metadata (e.g. learning objectives)
    • Reliable, high-performance APIs and services for content consumption
  • Enable downstream product innovation, ensuring digital customer-facing products and AI solutions can seamlessly access and utilise content and metadata at scale
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable plans by refining epics and keeping priorities transparent and focused on user and business impact
  • Champion data-informed decision-making, leveraging usage analytics, experiments, and user research to continuously improve learning outcomes and adoption
  • Represent the product to senior stakeholders, clearly communicating progress, risks, trade-offs, and impact

What we expect from you

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, or a comparable role, preferably in platform, API or data-driven products
  • Proven ability to lead products in complex, matrix environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Experience delivering platform capabilities or shared services used by multiple teams or markets
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in AI-driven solutions and data-enabled products
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written), able to influence technical and non-technical audiences at all levels

Bonus points

  • Hands-on experience with APIs, content platforms, data pipelines, or microservices architectures
  • Experience with semantic metadata, taxonomy design, or learning content models
  • Familiarity with LLMs, recommendation systems, or AI-based content enrichment
  • Experience in EdTech, learning platforms, or enterprise-scale digital ecosystems

Keys to Success

  • Strong product judgment - able to define value in platform contexts and balance platform vs. product needs
  • Ability to translate internal customer needs into scalable platform solutions
  • Data-driven decision-making approach
  • Proactive and positive "can-do" attitude, demonstrating initiative and resilience
  • Strong organizational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, consistently seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation
