Job description

Salary:

Are you enthusiastic about building products that create meaningful classroom impact with a strong belief in science education?

At Vernier Science Education, we advance science education by empowering educators and inspiring learners. Were seeking aProduct Manager, K-12 to help shape innovative STEM solutions used by educators and students across elementary, middle, and high school classrooms.

This is a rare opportunity to do true go-to-market product management in EdTech. Youll own product strategy and roadmap direction while partnering closely with sales, marketing, customer success, curriculum, and engineering teams to bring impactful learning solutions to market. This is not a product owner role focused solely on feature delivery. Instead, youll spend significant time engaging directly with teachers, administrators, and customers to deeply understand classroom needs and translate those insights into product direction and market impact.

The ideal candidate brings a strong product mindset, customer curiosity, and the ability to balance educator needs, business priorities, and technical considerations. Success in this role is measured not only by products launched, but by the educational outcomes and experiences created for teachers and students.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of product management experience in EdTech, software development, or related industries.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in education, business, computer science, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience managing products through the full lifecycle, from discovery through launch and iteration.
  • Experience translating customer and market insights into product requirements, roadmap priorities, and product decisions.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills rooted in user needs and data.
  • Experience conducting customer interviews, user research, or observational discovery work.
  • Ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical constraints in prioritization decisions.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, curriculum/content development, marketing, sales, and customer-facing teams.
  • Experience working in Agile or similar iterative product development environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in K12 STEM education, classroom technology, connected hardware, or scientific tools is a plus.
  • Former teaching or classroom experience is a plus.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and science education.

Where you will work

This is a hybrid role based in Beaverton, Oregon, with onsite presence expected three days per week. Limited domestic travel may be required (<10%).

What we offer

As a mission-based, Perpetual Purpose Trust owned organization, we appreciate the impact of a sustainable life-work balance. In addition to an amazing company culture, Vernier offers competitive pay, profit sharing, employer contributions into your 401(k) retirement account, and comprehensive benefits. We have an on-site fitness center, private shower facilities, and an indoor bike storage room. Vernier is located next to the Millikan Way MAX line, and we provide employer-paid commuter benefits to all eligible employees. We also offer training opportunities, tuition assistance, paid volunteer time, a PTO plan, and paid sabbaticals.

If youre excited about this role and our mission but dont align perfectly with every qualification, we still want to hear from you. We value curiosity, growth, and a shared commitment to science education.
