Job description

Dometic Land Vehicles Americas is a trusted provider of high-end products for recreational vehicles, commercial passenger vehicles and overlanding vehicles in North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean. We are on a journey of continuous growth - now looking for our next star - a passionate Product Manager within our Product Management capability. This position reports to the Vice President and General Manager, RVOEM Sales and will work in Elkhart, IN, area.
About the position
As a Product Manager in our Product Management team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development, strategy, and success of our product portfolio. You will be responsible for flawless execution of the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and concept development to launch and ongoing enhancement. This role demands a strategic thinker with a passion for innovation, a deep understanding of market dynamics, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex product portfolios. This role ensures that the product categories within assigned scope are optimized so that they meet the ambitions of Dometic, deliver against the financial targets, and create products and concepts for the target customers.
Your main responsibilities
Product Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback to identify market trends and opportunities.

Product Development:
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the product development lifecycle, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery of high-quality products.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to translate market needs into innovative and feasible product solutions.

Portfolio Management:
  • Manage a diverse product portfolio, making data-driven decisions to optimize product performance and profitability.
  • Define and communicate product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer expectations.

Go-to-Market Strategy:
  • Develop and execute go-to-market plans, including pricing strategies, positioning, and marketing collateral.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to drive product awareness, demand generation, and customer adoption.
  • Works with sales and marketing teams to develop sales tools, including sell sheets, website content, and brochures, to maximize brand exposure and equity.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, engineering, and executive leadership, to ensure alignment and support for product initiatives.
  • Serves as a product specialist who develops and performs training on products.

Performance Analysis:
  • Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Implement strategies to address challenges and capitalize on market dynamics.

A suitable background would be a solid experience within product management in an aftermarket product and service company, as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager at a senior level, preferably in a consumer goods-oriented industry. Ideal candidate will have direct experience in an aftermarket product and service company.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex product portfolios and driving product innovation.
  • Ability to travel extensively, potentially up to 50%.

To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:
  • Experience in mobile living markets (RVs, marine, etc.) focused on the manufacturing and distribution of aftermarket products. Deep experience with the different aftermarket sales channels is a significant plus.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Technical background or understanding of product development processes is advantageous.
